    Feeble Attempt at some history

At local gun shows, I always try to show some history. Here is an example of each of the eleven mfgrs, an M1A1icon, and 7 of the "Bavarians". Many stop and ask questions.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Nice display Jim (Ronnie) ....

It's great to see someone trying to educate others about the pieces we collect, not just keep knowledge to themselves ...

Thanks guys.... In the case is a Code "42" luger with the plastic Krieghoff grips. It is a "rig", all matching, and is complete with letter from the vet's son about how his dad acquired the pistol. Also a map of Europe complete with marks of where his dad traveled.
On the carbines, you can see pieces of paper on the stocks... Those have the name of the mfgr printed on them... Many questions from this...
I know this display is crude, but it gets folks to stop and look. Plus, they can pick up the guns and look. Most folks have never seen these outside of a museum, and would never be able to actually pick one up and "heft" it...
