Very Nice ME-109 model. Did you make it?

I've been a WWII aircraft addict since a little kid and think I learned aircraft ID from building about every model ever made.
When I got to be a bigger kid (About 40 years old) I joined the Confederate Air Force (CAF) so I could play with bigger WWII planes.

I ran across this photo a couple of days ago that I took from the front seat of a 1942 Stearman that my buddy was flying from the rear seat.
(We're still coming out of a spin and the trees were getting pretty big)

I kind of laughed when I saw it again -
I have no problem doing aerobatics in wood and canvas planes made over 60 years ago, but I'm not brave enough to shoot a dangerous Universal Carbine or a low number 1903 Springfield.

    Oh, the hobbies we have!

    More outstanding models RCS!
(There's more work and skill involved than most know)

That name sounds familiar, but I didn't know him.
The CAF is a very large group.

When this handguard jumped to over $200, I sent the seller a message: "Is this perhaps the long-rumored Rock-Ola handguard that was discovered to be cracked upon final inspection at the factory, but Mr. Rockola himself directed that it be reinforced with two platinum rods to strengthen it, enabling him to meet his monthly production quota, and thereby receive a contract incentive payment from the US Government? What a miraculous find you have there -- fetching more than five times what an "unreinforced" RMC handguard will bring!"

Dunno why I never heard back from him ........ ?

    and how stupid they are!
(Too bad it never happens when I sell something!)

I gave up on eBay a couple of years ago; both buying and selling.
Why is it stupid if they have the money to blow on it? I wouldn't spend $200 plus on a carbine handguard, but ain't it great to live in a free country where folks can do so if they want?

    - change it back -
