Another (different) No4 magazine question
Has anyone ever seen a newly unwrapped 1955 PF prefixed No4Mk2 with a polished blued un numbered magazine, obviously unused, instead of the usual serial numbered suncorited job?
I only ask because I saw one the other day and wondered if there was any possibility of it being the one provided with the rifle prior to packing, or has the original simply be lost by the unwrapper and been replaced?

All of the newly unwrapped ones that I've seen were all matching, down to the t. Sounds odd to me.

Sounds like a replaced mag. If they were producing tens of thousands of rifles with standard suncorite'd magazines as the pattern standard, its not likely that they'd include the odd blued mag from time to time.
