    Nut's..I did it again

I glommed another sporterized 1911 at an auction this weekend. I had so much luck accuracy wise with the last sportered 96/11, I decided to try another. They ain't pretty, but they sure can shoot..

Finally got the sportered 1911...and boy is it ugly.

What I had taken for nice bluing turned out to be gloss paint. And of course, anyone that would paint a receiver would polyurethane a stock.

Here's the thing..the owner went to some trouble to free float the barrel..

And it showed at the range (GP11 @100 yards)

    A tad over 1"

Funny looking one, Steve! I sold my Gewehr 1911 three weeks ago. It was a great rifle in 1+ condition.

Have fun, its a good shooter!

    LOL...it is funny looking, Ulrich.

I have a number of 1911 and 96/11 rifles still in military configuration. Recently I got this one and a sportered 96/11 because they were cheap ($100 each). I wanted one that I could drill and tap without feeling guilty about "destroying history"

I recently purchased a Swissicon Products drill and tap scope mount for the sportered 96/11 and when I get a scope on it, will issue a range report.

Sorry to hear that you sold your G11

Hope all is well with you, old buddy.

    Hi Steve,

yes it is a bit sad and i don´t like to sell my stuff, but over here it is a bit different with the gun laws. I have space for ten rifles in my safes and i have purchased an .30 M1icon Carbine.
The guy at the bureau for gun licenses said that i have to buy a new safe or should sell a rifle. And the Swissicon Gewehr 11 is a rifle that i didn´t used for the last year and so i decided to......

Thanks Steve, anything is well over here the competition season started and i made a good place at the first Bavarian Championship that year. How are you my friend?
