A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Hi FTD,
The one in the auction was posted about here before.
The Poster seems honest enough about the stock.
Said to have come from What A Country.
I've never dealt with WAC, but have heard their legit sellers.
Problem is..... That Stamp is a reproduction.
The stock is a WWII marked SC B in the slingwell.
I've tried and tried to copy it in to my Photo bucket files with no luck.
But I was able to find the old post on here about it.
In that post I put up a picture of a real stamped UEF/GHD and CC.
You can compare them in the old post, then look at the one on auction again.

Question was more of line of the use of Birch by Underwood, is this a transfer of some sort. Went back to the older posts and got my answer...

    Look more closely.......
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

The only thing I see is the underside cannon breach doesn't line up with the barrel.
