    No.5 MKI Butt plate

    Seeing the other thread on the No. 5 rifle reminded me of another No.5 I saw years ago, the odd thing was the buttplate, not the pad but the actual metal part. It was identical to any normal one with the exception that the sling bar was not in it's usual place, instead it was mounted on the very bottom of the plate. And this was on a minty 1947 BSA.

    Ideas?

    The sling bar was quite too small to fit the metal end of a WW2 dated enfield sling through.
