Its a wartime device that was used in training to turn a rifle into a "Bren" for the purposes of battlefield drills.

Last one on the loose had a reserve of $950.00 but was complete with the bipod legs. It did not sell.
The handle and bipod were, as stated above, a training "substitute" for a Bren.
    Made by Parker Hale...

They must have been pressed into service as a result of the the great "Gas Rattle" shortage.

Last time I saw one was also with the bipod and the seller wanted $1,500.00 which I thought was nuts. Just checked at it is still there, no takers at that price I guess. It would make the "handle" very cheap at $250.00 IF you could ever find a bipod. Looks like it won't be a bargain in the end as at 250.00 the reserve has not been met??

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I sent the seller an e-mail about it being used for a "BREN" training device, as well as the bipods that were also used. He seemed to be shocked and in the long run I don't think he believed me. Said it would only fit a No.4. I even sent him some photos and some links.

Guess he is convinced that it is a secret, experimental, rare sniper carry handle. Cool piece of history tho.

$1500 shipping and handling seems a bit steep

The one for $1,500.00 is on Collectors Source here in Canadaicon. I would like to own one but the price is in the stratosphere and I would never pay that much.
