    Question Slide stop?

    I have a plainfield.

When I purchased it, the slide stop and spring were missing. I purchased replacement parts from Fulton Armory. I can not seem to get the stop past the spring. Is there a trick to this?

I found this video on youtube. Really very good.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pete

Trick, yes. I push the spring in with a small screwdriver and push up the stop at the same time. Three hands maybe required. Put the spring in with the start of turn one down. Once the stop is started you can remove the screwdriver. Sometimes you get it the frist time and some times it takes ten plus times. Others have used a smaller pin from the top and let the stop push the other pin out as the stop is inserted.

You might want to do it with the slide and your hands in a clear plastic bag on a table.....Frank
