Saginaw 5.8 million date Born????? and Barrel question.

My CMPicon Inland was getting lonely. After all, I have two 7.62x39mm rifles, and two 5.56x45mm weapons. With that logic, I needed another carbine!

I have the Inland, which is the kind of Carbine my dad carried on Iwo Jima. Since he also carried a Saginaw for awhile (on Saipan, I think), I decided to build up a mid-war saginaw. I just acquires a 5.8 Million Saginaw barreled receiver with an undated IBM barrel (ME 3 or less).

What is the approximate date range of the 5.8 million saginaw, and what barrel would it have had. Did IBM ship any barrels to saginaw???? I realize it is probably a replacement, and that is OK. I am just curious.

    Thanks in advance.

I have one stamped very likely the day the second block started. For that one, with undated Saginaw barrel, I'm guessing late February (or early March) 1944. Could be wrong though.
