    MXR Safety on 5.3 SA

I have heard that it wasn't uncommon to find a MXR safety on a 5.3 SA Garandicon and that this was discussed in GCAicon Journal Vol. 15, No. 2, Spring 2001, pgs. 10-13. As I can't order a back issue of this journal from the GCA, would somebody happen to have a scanned copy of this article available? Or could somebody just re-type the paragraph discussing this as my 5.3 SA has this safety. Thanks for your time and assistance.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Better research on the MXR safety can be found in the Fall 2010 issue, page 7, "Unexpected Parts in Late SA Garands." Oddities are found starting in the 5.3 range of the rifles examined and up from there.

Until those guns were examined and the results documented by John and Rick, most of us thought the MXR was an M14icon part -- 'taint so! Never too old to learn.
