I've been keeping myself busy this winter going to gun shows and working on wood and parts. Some for myself and some for a friend. I thought I would share some of it with you guys.

Hey Rusty, I would be happy to help you out if you need a stock repaired.....Frank

Those are parts being parked after being bead blasted. I just can't stand beat up "rusted" parts.
That Garandicon I cleaned up for a friend turned out nice. It looked like junk when I got it. Now to see how it shoots.

I am jealous, Frank! Every time I try to claim an area as a work room or den, it gets converted to guest bedroom or storage! I just used my bed as a bench to switch all the late parts and stock on my CMPicon Inland so I would have the early stuff for my Saginaw barreled receiver. If I get oil on the bedspread, I will have to point out to my wife that my den is piled with storage!

Hi Bernie, those parts in the park solution are out in my shop. 35'x35' heated with sound and water. That's were I do bead blasting, sand blasting, parking, and dirty work. I have 2 air compressers, a big one for heavy equipment, trucks and tractors with alot of air tools, and a smaller one with a regulator. I can also set up a portable paint booth in there, it's big enough to paint a dozer inside in the winter. Two welders, stick and mig, and tons of tools.
Those stocks and rifles are in a building right next to the shop. I call it the "Hideout", (every man needs one) thats were I do all the wood work, fine work and details. One side is a fishing theme and the other side is a hunting theme. The work benches are two 8'ers in the corner, it realy works out well.
It's a great place to meet up and take a break in the hunting season. There has been many a "Texas Holdum" game played in there. It has electric heat but I have a little pot belly wood burner in there and have alot of fun working on my projects out there.
I think you like working on your guns so much you should share this thread with you wife. Be prepared to make her a special room for her projects.....Frank

Paul the smaller one with the regulator is a roll around 3hp. At 80psi. it keeps up with the work. That's the one I use for bead blasting in the cabinet. The bigger one is an upright 6.5hp. that goes up to 150psi. I have it set up to use either a 3/8 or 1/2 inch hose. I can use a 1" impact with that one. I also use it for sand blasting.....Frank

Rusty, that was the idea when I remodeled the old 2 car garage. It was built with lumber that was salvage from other buildings that were torn down. Back in the old days they saved and reused everything. The man that homesteaded our farm put the building up to hold 2 model T or A Fords. There was a wall that seperated the garage and a room where they washed cloths and canned vegetables. I took out the wall pulled off the siding, roof and completely gutted the inside. Broke out and poured a new floor. Brought in water and phone, and updated the electric. Walled off the car doors that were in the front. I went to an Amish saw mill to get the full cut 2x's to match up with what was already there. Put in a bathroom with a shower and drywalled. New windows, the doors were saved from remodeling our house. New siding and roof, everything well insulated. The ceiling is pine car siding that I srayed with a satin clear. The moldings are pine stained hickory. When we have company it can be used as a guest house.
It's a great place to work or relax, I'm out there a lot.....Frank
