Weaver Scopes, US Navy Non-Sniper Usage
Found some information on US Navy use of the Weaver 330 and 298 (29S ?) in a 1949 manual on boresighting equipment. Over the year various non-sniping uses for the Weavers have been postulated but the documentation was always thin. Here, at least, is one but probably not the onlt example
I have also read that the Navy was in overall charge of optical instrument procurement during WW2. It appears that Weaver was involved in a lot of war work besides equipping the 03-A4's
Regards,
Jim
