Not a lend lease rifle. The stamping on the carbine means that it was at one time imported into the UKicon and before it was exported by law it had to be proofed before leaving the UK. The old Interarms Corp. imported thousands of carbines into the UK and then exported them to the US.

Slightly over 25,000 M1icon Carbines were Lend- Leased to Englandicon, but not that one. It appears to have a round bolt and bayonet lug, so just happened to come back to England from somewhere else after WWII.
The British Proofs are not export marks. Any firearm not made in England which is sold commercially in England must go through a proof house first, whether it stays in England or is exported.
