New Standard ?Bavaria Austria Early Import Help????

Guys I had been looking for a early featured Standard for a long time I bought this with little info but the price was right.
From a little reading on the Bavarian Carbine page it seems I have a Circa 1978 CIA import.Century appears to be scratched on the side of the receiver using a awl. Before they got there barrel stamp. It also has the receiver rail markings removed (Bavarian?) which I read the Bavarians did themselves back then. It has the milling marks on the dovetail area which I read is a Austrian oddity. There is a tiny 68 in a circle on the side of the front sight. The sling swivel and screw may be in-country made replacements and it appears they refinished it in flat dark grey. Alot of the internals appear to be original.
Please look at the info and pictures let me know what you think and if you guys have any info I missed. Also help with value, Im not gonna sell it but I like to keep a list in case of fire, theft ETC.

    Standard Products 20728XX
Barrel 11/43 Underwood "P" half way down barrel 1.8 ME
Front Sight "N" finger nail cut "68" in circle on side

Slide S inside last 4 Of SN# stamped on arm
Trigger housing ST with last 4 of SN stamped on rear
    Hammer SW in the white
    sear SW in the white
Safety push button plain ends "IN" inside
    Mag button EP-Q
Type 1 Band 3 weld Maybe foreighn replacement swivel and screw
    Recoil plate un-marked
Stock RSG highwood no cartouches, has a non matching serial stamped over sling well markings
Handguard is BR B SN# matches stock but not rifle.
I havent had alot of time to break it down but I believe a good part of it is original.

I notice the rear sight is on backwards. So the rear sight has been off at some time. Maybe when they put on the lines. I see the base marked, is the leaf marked also? That is a high priced item.

    Bavarian ?

    Curt,
I don't know about the "austrian oddity" issue that you spoke of but my 2 cents is that it appears that the dovetail has been milled down to get rid of the stake marks from a later rear sight? If you look at the depth of the dovetail it does not match the depth of the rear flip sight itself ? Anyway, just my take on it, and I may be way off base ok? Otherwise, a very nice rifle.

The top of the receiver, adjacent to the rear sight dovetail, was milled with the striations to provide a non-reflective surface for use with the Mauser type sight the Germans would install at the front of the receiver.
