    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. That's one of those seldom seen, rare bullet nose stocks.

    Ya know, sometimes I see items on the auction that really make me feel inadequate over some of my shop skills. I NEVER can seem to get a stock to look that clean when I sand it, no matter how long I sand or what grit I use.

    Ok. here I go AGAIN stating the obvious....

    Dude, if you want to claim its worth $3,000.00 then

    (1) justify what you are selling;

    (2) take better pictures to prove/highlight it; and

    (3) Check before hand to make sure you don't have FAKED parts installed.

    Pssssss..... it also helps if you are asking a fair market price as a starting bid, you don't overprice a rebuilt carbine and YOU DON'T HAVE A UNPAUSABLE WRITE UP THAT SMELLS LIKE 3 DAY OLD FISH!!!!

    There... I feel much better now that I have that off my chest...

    It is a put together. The receiver has been reparked but the barrel hasn't. The rear sight is on backwards and is fake, it has a sanded down potbelly M2 stock that looks to be birch wood, the safety looks questionable as does the barrel band. He probably has an open account with George!

    Base of rear site is on correctly, the LEAF is backwards.

    Bill,
    If that was a M2 stock.... imagine the pile of saw dust on the bench top !!
