L1A1 zeroing adjustment, iron sights and SUIT sight?

Hi Peter,

I felt I had to add the actual page because I doubted myself! Surely on something so critical the book must be right!*??

BDL lists quite a few books, I'm assuming the one you're referring to is the one I pictued above at $15, but I'd hate to order the wrong one!

Definately NO............... The one you've illustrated is for the L39 and L42 rifles. You want the L1 rifle book. Just ask him for that. The later, 1977 book is a really up to date 100 page version that includes the SUIT sight and the sub calibre device too. As I said, a good little read too

next they'll want the armourers to clean them as well

Pete, I do, There are TWO lengths of Fuller on the L1A4 Types, you know about the conversion of L1A1's to L1A3s from the EMER Modification obviously.
Various contractors made these bayonets, but I dont collect Manufacturers names, just the actual physical different variations.
And YES! To be correct, you should be posting this (& me really!) on the Edged Weapons Forum! RIGHT!....Now go get a Broom & sweep the Armrs Shop Floor!.....(For the Non Military Members : A Minor Dirty job Punishment!) Lol!

Got that Tankie, but instead of a bit of floor sweeping, I've just made them all a cup of tea. As a bit of a laugh, I made the tea in cups with saucers - unheard of in Armourers shops as it's usually just dirty mugs - together with a spoon and two biscuits on the saucer too. You should have heard them............ I told them that I was just spreading a little culture around the place.......... It's no good. They told me that they don't want this 'poncy officer stuff' to contaminate the staff. Anyway, we discussed the Libya crisis and recon we've solved that using one airoplane and one bomb.

Hi Peter, I have a large number of L1A1 bayonet variables as part of the collection, to the point where I have been doing line drawings of the variations. What would you like to know?

Ha, Ha! Nice one Pete! I hope you also made them squirm with putting a doilie & some knapkins on the table as well! I think the nearest that Armourers got to culture was Boiling a kettle with a compo tin of food inside it!

Also seeking knowledge on how to zero the Trilux SUIT.

It is done at 25m/yds - good. I've heard both 25 and 15, both yards and meters.

What is the correct offset between point of aim and point of impact? From the above post - point of impact is 25mm to right of point of aim, but at the same elevation. Similar deflection, but very much at odds with the 4.5 inches in elevation mentioned on other web sites.

Which manual specifically addresses zeroing the SUIT? (UK, Aussie or other?) Might there be an online downloadable (free) version?

I plan to eventually get the manual, but want to get to the range ASAP.
