I came across a Solders Handbook for the Model of 1917

And am wondering what its worth. Condition is pretty tough with some pages dogeared, cover stained, and individual pages looking water stained. All is there however, pretty neat little book. It is War Department Document number 698 from 1918.

The cover and inside page has the name of the guy who owned the book years ago. The book itself includes scoresheets that have not been filled out. I do not believe the persons name on the book was a soldier who was issued this book.

I am attaching a couple of pictures for your info.
THank you for any info. I would like to buy it but have no idea what to offer.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Interesting old piece of history ...

I'm not sure what it would be worth, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but If I was a 1903 collector (I'm not), I'd love to add it to the collection.

We have a lot of on-line electronic scans of several 1903 manuals on in the MKLicon for members to download.

United States Rifle, Cal .30, Model 1917 Manual

    M1903 - Individual Instruction in Rifle Practice (A.E.F No. 1418 G-5) (1918)

    Regards,
    Doug
