1911 Commercial Magazine Question...
I recently purchased a 1911 commercial, mfg in 1919. Unfortunately the magazine, which has the correct high polish blue, has rust and pitting. I am wondering if it is possible to punch out the pins from the magazine base and install the base in a better condition two-tone magazine body? Is this fairly easy to do? Is this not a good idea? Thanks, Frank

Why not just use the better magazine? There is no way you can punch out the pins and reinstall them anywhere near factory original.
This is a non lanyard loop Government Model magazine, and on this side you can't even see the pins. They are slightly more visible on the other side. The pins were installed, dressed down, polished, and then blued.
