It's been refinished and that is not a real WWII stock but one of the commercial high wood stocks that are out there. Fake rear sight too! Wow! The things people will do!

I would buy it as a shooter, but I would want the original (typeII/III) rear sight and the type III band. That new stock looks nice for display and I wonder if shoots good. That muzzle looks recut to me. At least it would save the buyer the cost of a repark job.

I won't say that the statements being made are not accurate. Fro had access to alot of REAL type I bands and Type I rear sights and original slides. I think that rear sight is one that was refinished. Check out his site - he states that some of the original parts had to be refinished due to rusting in a warehouse.

I have to make some clarifications here.

The sight, after looking at it closer, looks real. The starting price seems high to me. I have had dealings with the seller on more than one occasion and I have never been dissatisfied with any of them. As it is, it seems a little high priced to me but then again.........

Yes, I have dealt with this seller, FrowDawwg as well. Never a problem. He actually disassembles old scrapped Carbines and sells the parts. Frequently has old sights, slides and barrel bands. His site is the collector source, I think. I would agree, price seems a little high.

It seems he dumped the whole thing in a parkerizing tank all at once. But the bolt while it is an Underwood is too early for this serial number. He does state that the stock is a new commercial one.

Please elaborate re the bolt. Didn't Underwood install .U. flat bolts up to (and after) the time they started installing the round bolts?

I know that he had a bunch or original flip sights, but this one looks like the aperture had been drilled out to make it
the right diameter. Could just be the lighting in photo #9 ?
