    "Here's one I made earlier"

Right lads, since I am not yet in a condition to fire my Big Bangers, but do not wish to let "Gunner" Ulrich have it all his own way, I take the liberty of providing one I shot earlier ... several years earlier in fact. Just in the hope of provoking some others out there to get out and see what their old rifles will do - it may be a lot better than you expect.

    Attachment 23676

This target was created by leaving my sighter target on the board behind the competition target. Hence the ragged holes.
As soon as circumstance permit, I will fire a fresh 5-shot group for this competition.

    Patrick

Patrick, after seeing this, i´m a bit of lucky that you can not shoot the big guns! If so, i were without a chance! Good shooting. I hope your shoulder is getting better soon. But in the meantime you can shoot a .22 trainer. I think i read that you have one.

    All the best!

    First competition target

    Attachment 23732

The problem is with my old eyes, plus, it was raining real hard. I'm not able to come up with any better excuses at this time. I have put only about 200 rounds down range since I purchased my M1icon from CMPicon. My son is a lot better than I am with my M1. Oh well, "the room for emprovement" is the largest room in the world.
I was using my reloads, 168 gr Nosler HPBT bullet, Remington Brass, H4895 powder and CCI 34 primers.

NOT AN ENTRY! RECEIVER NOT ELIGIBLE.

We decided that REPLICA receivered weapons are not eligible, such as M1a (M14icon clone), so this target from an an old favorite WON'T count.

But it wasn't bad, so I'll show it off anyway. Not bad for a GI barrel and an unbedded stock..

"Does the camera flash make my butt look fat?" , she asked.

So, now gotta find another category three entry. OH, the horror- Having to shoot more!

NOT AN ENTRY! RECEIVER NOT ELIGIBLE.

Well we have been busy here with the Graduation of my Granddaughter from Highschool. But now I can concentrate on my shooting. I was printing out the target posted at the beginning of the thread, but I ordered some targets centers that match the measurements given, they are B-17C. The main object is group size, not score but I aim to work on both.

I will get some photos of our range, it is for members only and measures 100, 200 and 300 yards. The public range is 50 and 100 yards.

Great idea, and thanks. I get lonely at my range: I'm about the only one who shoots milsurp. Everyone else shoots race-guns, or nearly so with a gi-gundo scope. I always attract attention with whatever I bring. It's very satisfying to walk downrange and realize that 60 year-old eyes plus 60 year-old rifle with iron sights (my favorite -- Irish contract Enfield) plus 35 year-old ammo (Greek .303) can almost outshoot the Hubble Space Telescope on the next firing point (I work at NASA).

Let me get warmed-up, and add to the fun.
