I am not upset about using my ink to print out my targets. I have a nice drawing program that does this with many options for color, gradient fills, and other affects.
My rant was how after many years of good use, my Epson printer decided to die, AFTER I made a bulk purchase of ink cartridges. Then my wife buys a HP printer that CAN NOT use them. Now I have to buy more ink cartridges, and am STUCK with these Epson ones that will NEVER get used.

Understood, think we have all been down that road before, few months back I went to buy some new cartridges and the cost of the two (black and colour) was more expensive than a new printer (HP) which did everything.

    I bought the new printer.....

I'll do it as well, I have some targets with three shot groups one is from my Berretta Gardone 6.5 carcano and the other is from a Russianicon Capture K 98. I'll do the other targets as soon as I get time.

If it goes bang and makes holes in paper at a distance of 100 yards/meters, why not?

    Here's my entry #1 for category #1:

First target after setting the sights at "150". Afraid to try any more!:

The best of three standing position targets at 100yds attempted below:

GOOD carbine! Even with that wiggle-y stock. Way too many details in a forthcoming separate range report when I get the time. (I lost the first try at this post.)
It's been in the stable a longish time, but it's too "pretty" to shoot a whole bunch.

ETA: Well, added brief thread in the Carbine forum rather than a full blown range report. Hopefully, someone else will now have to show us how to REALLY shoot a Carbine!

ETA to the ETA: I completely missed fn111557's carbine entry- See Post #50! His score is rather better than mine, as he only dropped five points! Mine's down seven (or eight , but my seven ring is 0.750" too small due to "printer shrink".)

    Nice one Jmoore,

It has to be one of my favourite rifles, there was a company in the UKicon who had some made as "straight pull" to comply with our semi auto ban, but dont know what happened to them all and never seen any for sale.

    Vintage Matches at Camp Perry

Sorry I don't check this site very often, but, Lucky me! I'm only 90 miles from Camp Perry and have been shooting in the National Matches since 1991. The first time I shot the 'Vintage' match was with a Belgian Mauser in .30-06, receiver marking exactly as pictured on page 164 of "Mauser Bolt Rifles" Third Edition by Ludwig Olson. I shot well enough with that rifle to get a bronze medal with it. I have since switched to my Germanicon Mod 98, code ar 43, all matching, and have managed to earn a couple more bronze medals with it. The course of fire is 5 sighters slow prone, 10 shots for record slow prone, 10 shots rapid prone, and 10 shots standing offhand slow fire for a possible 300 points, all at 200 yards. Great fun!
Unsure how well I will do this year as I just had hernia repair surgery Monday of last week. Check out the CMPicon website for information on the National Matches: Civilian Marksmanship Program and entry information. The hardest thing about Camp Perry is finding lodging. I'll be there to shoot 8 matches in 7 days, again, 1-7 August.

    milsurp comp

I want to join the milsurp comp as I have never tried such a thing despite having owned US milsurps for years. Garandicon, 1917 and 1903 in thesafe now. I love the rules, they fit an antique shooter. I have ordered some B-17 targets as they seem to be the size specified.
Do I shoot for score or group and do I then send the targets someplace or do I post photos?

I am sure more questions to follow.

Ed, Your most welcome to join in, as for score or grouping its up to you, dont think we have much chance of touching gunners score, but you never know.

Once you shoot the card just get a pic and some info and reply to thread, need info such as rifle used, and the category.

Tried to keep the rules as simple as possible, plus as you said they fit the antique shooter.
