    Funnily enough as I get more into the collecting side of the enfields I am liking the early examples more and more. Pictures such as these are the cause !

    Two beautiful specimens.

    Love that rear sight with the water-buffalo-horn buttons. I found one like that attached to a barreled action, many years ago, in a $2-each parts barrel. Took the thing home, realised that I had a decent bore and rebuilt it with Mark III parts, still have it even though the numbers came out of a Mixmaster. It`s my never-ever-sell rifle. I imagine these are in much the same category.
