Just picked this up. Very pleased with it too. Pretty well as new, bar a little ding on the butt. I'm pretty sure it's unfired, and at this stage it will stay that way. I'm absolutely wrapped with this cracking little gun! I don't particularly collect anything other than No4's but this had to come with me.

    Under the category of "not-beautiful":

A late 7mm Oviedo Model 1893 Spanish Mauser (1927). Last year of production of complete new M'93 rifles seems to be 1298.

Needs help! But maybe it'll still shoot.
At least it's unmodified. And cheap...but hopefully chock full of educational and minimal cost labor-consuming (i.e. scrubbing and cleaning) value.
It's surely not Germanic craftsmanship, but not as bad as first thought.

    Canadian Snider Cadet Carbine

Picked this up last weekend at the HAC show in Burnaby. Nice looking little carbine, good bore, everything else looks great. Too bad someone polished the brass somewhat recently.

Don't these fire a shorter cartridge than the full length rifles?

    Nice piece Hal ...

Although not a carbine, here's the 1862 Snider Enfield (click here) in my personal collection. I've had this old girl for almost 30 years.

    Regards,
    Doug

Badger, eventually I need to do a photo essay of my MkIII Sergeant's pattern two band. It is also an ex Canadianicon Service rifle.
