A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. RCS,
Would you specify the high & low of the serial number range you're referring to?
I seem to recall others referring to it, as well, but have forgotten the details / source.
    Thank you, Bill

Best you can get is 825058 in 1940 being sent from Ft. Shafter to Ba. or 825046 in 1933 New York state Govs. island. SRS book 4 1999 edition on pages 128-129 lots of USMC but also lot of 12th. cav. so if no hit no way to tell where it was. Book one has a section on USMc rifles in Nicaragua 543xxx to 10037xx but not one rifle in the 825 range.

Thanks for the information (and thanks to eb215 for the emails and information) I forgot to say that this receiver has the Hatcher hole which got me thinking USN/USMC. The stock is not the factor because like M1icon rifle stocks, they can be changed
