    Focus problem on MKIII scope

I have found(but not bought) another T. Wrong front stock wood/mismatched scope, scope out of focus but all the correct inspection marks, N92 mount, new condition bore-all at about half price$1800). S 51 buttsock mark proper location, size, spacing and font-in comparison to my all matching unit which happened to be on hand. Big gun show-everyone passed on it. The 1945 marked CookeTroughton and Sim(CTS) made MkIII scope is a bit blurry with my new glasses on but clear without glasses. The glass is free of cracks and the individual lenses look clear at each end of the tube. The scope tube tube has uniform original finish/no rust. There is a wedgewood blue capital W on the side. No red B. The elevation and deflection drums are free and the reticle responds normally. Two sub 30 year olds have found scope a bit blurred. It is as if the lenses have separated slightly. Are there compound lens that could have separated? Remember P. Laidlericon talking Balsam. The four screw/top-mounted inspection cover has all four screws fairly buggered up like some ham-handed guy removed the "inspection hatch", presumably to "reposition the worm gear" to reestablish focus. Did not work. Maybe the proper technique was not followed. Peter does this give you enough information to draw any conclusions that could guide my decision to buy/not buy? If compound lenses are separated how much to repair by you?

    I have a very nice 1944 m47C(BSA) T that needs a scope/mount like this.

If the image and grat are in focus without your glasses (see line 5) then what's the problem? If the lenses were separated, then it'd be blurred as opposed to out of focus

If the erector cell cover screws are buggered, I would bet dollars to donuts someone has been pi**ing about with it. If the erector cell has been moved you will loose some focus and blurring of the cross hair and post.... When lenses separate it normally looks like spider webs and usually from the outside towards the centre but sometimes from the centre out. A yellow tinge also means a lens problem.
