New Blue Sky Carbine

I just picked this here new carbine, made by Blue Sky. Even the parkerized finish is better than Big Bubba, Pa-in-Law could do. I kinda hate to shoot one that has never been shot.
And it has a brand new GI stock. Not a ding on it. $545.00 with shipping and FFL costs. That for a 5.6 serial number.

Notice the clip ends on the sling. Must be one of a kind.
(Korean GI stock) I have talked to Mike22 and he is going to trade me even for this stock and the stock on the beater Winchester he just bought.
For bottom feeding, I think I did great.

Bubba, you did good with that price - at least for what they are going for today . Curious to what you find when you open her up and break her down. Oh, can you please put some oil on that finish? She looks very thuuuur-sty!

That stock is Kapar, a korean wood. Those stocks were typical on about 10% of the Blue Skys. They all looked like that. Nothing ever put on them. All I am worried about is MW, I won't have anything over a 2.0 and Blue Skys can be anywhere from a 0.0 to a 10.0.

Some of the Blue Sky import barrels were stamped so heavy that it slightly crushed the bore. It could be felt with a tight patch.

I've got one about like that marked ORD Arlington which I've heard was the successor to Blue Sky. The stock looks about the same except for it's got a 2 rivet handguard - no markings on either one, but the very front of the stock is shaped a bit different than my GI stocks. Do you think it's a Korean stock? It actually has some really decent parts in it, and came with a new GI "D" tip sling. I've had it about 8 years, but I think it may have been redone by Arlington in the late 80's or real early 90's. Does that sound about right for the date they were bringing them in? - Bob

Late 80's to early 90s.
I talked to one of the princpals for Blue Sky later Arlington Ord. He told me when Arl. Ord. folded, He took a barn full of stuff to his farm. He told me he had a box full of flip rear sights somewhere in the barn. They took them off because at the time they did not believe carbines would sell with the "Old Parts" on them. He never found the box for me but I did get some stocks from him with chicken sh1T on them. I should have paided him a visit.
I also got from him receivers with the dovetail busted off, one side or the other, where they were removing flip sights. The dove tail will break.

Bubba; your import mark is deep but not overstamped. Tell you what, that mark is in there to stay. Ain't gone be no sanding it off. I will divulge a trick to make the thick Parkerizing at least look better. Oil it up with the darkest old used motor oil you can find. Let it set a few weeks and rub off the excess - repaet often.

I have done that for years but the smell of burnt motor oil is not the same as Hoppies. LOL
Motor oil has a lot of rust preventativies too.
I tend to leave them alone. It will be Blue Sky "Battleship Gray" for as long as I have it.

Blue Sky, is there anyway to get Blue Sky OFF the carbine? Machine Shop or Sanding
