Arrow 11-171 garand Picture of the Day - M1's for Vets Program

Cpl. Derrick Lewis, a squad leader with Company B, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, takes his post after receiving an M1icon Garand from Jim Gularte, a representative for the M1 for Vets program during a ceremony at Victory Field here, Nov. 25. The program, which was originally established on the East Coast, now has roots in California and plans to give out more rifles to deserving veterans.

There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.

Amen to that Frank...we have the same "politics" over here with returning injured vets.....at last the Help For Heroes charity has at last started to realise what "they gave" in theatre so that we might live in freedom.....the guys on the range in that bottom picture look right at home.

    Regards

    Combat Wounded

GCAicon contributed $6,000 to help finance their Camp Perry trip last year, will likely do the same again this year. The program is limited to combat-wounded vets who want to get back to competitive shooting. They are referred by military hospitals. We are very proud to be part of it.
