I have no idea what the Ross bayonet is worth, it sure looks like a nice one. Are you interested in selling the No.5 bayonet? I have a carbine built in 1947, it would be nice to have the bayonet from the same year.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. The brass doo dads in the wallet are button sticks, you slide them under the button so you can polish it without removing it from your tunic.

I looked the bayonet over (closer) and found a P5 on the front lower tang, P (in a circle) 1947 on the blade, Z8661 and a Arrow (government property mark) on the rear metal portion of the handle. The metal on the handle has been painted green (over the original black), not factory. I left it because it might have some meaning. It would be easy to remove. I have no scabbard. The blade is almost new in condition.

I have no reason to keep it and I would rather it go to someone who appreciates it. That goes for pretty much all of it except maybe the googles, as I just found a picture of my great uncle wearing them. My Mom's side of the family is Germanicon so thats where I am focusing my attention. I would sell it or if you have anything German pre-46, I would trade..... I really need original pistol magazines and holsters (walther, mauser, luger, sauer).

    Jay
