1939 Mauser K98 Original NOT RC all numbers match...need help pricing for poss sale

    Greetings All,
Im in need of some help here...We have a 1939 Mauser K98icon 8mm Rifle with matching serial numbers. Trying to figure out what they are worth. Not sure at this time if we are going to sell or not. It looks as though the stock was cut from the first ring (from trigger) on forward removing the cleaning rod. I was told many G.I.'s did this and brought back these rifles to use as hunting rifles. it does NOT have a bayonette nor a strap. It looks as though someone went nuts stamping the NAZI sumbols all over her...atleast 6 or 8 eagles with the swaztika underneath.
I would really hate to see her gone but divorce and legal fees costing us much $
Any help would be greatly appreciated. You have a wonderful board here and keep up the good work guys!!!

    Kind Regards,
    Adam
P.S. I will post some photos as soon as I figure out how to do it...

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay You for it. Take it to a Gunsmith and have it appraised....

Is the front section of the stock still with the rifle even if it's not integral to the rest of the fore end?

If the front of the fore end is missing then the value will basically be the same as any other mismatched rifle in similar condition. If you still have it, then there's a possibility it's worth substantially more!

The price at a well advertised auction is the true price.
