I see them come up from time to time over here, at the cheaper end of the market. I had a single shot many moons ago. It was basic, cheap but did the job just fine.

What you have there is the famous Lithgow model 12 bolt repeater,well kwown for there acuracy and build, acuracy due perhaps to the heavy SMLE sized barrel.they had satinwood stocks and were made from 1946 to the mid 50s. they have turned into a true collectable here in Australia and the best part about these rifles is there still dirt cheap ! there is still a few around but not as many as the single shot Lithgow model 1 rifles that every Aussie boy growing up in the 40s-70s had.

I've got the single shot version. Looks like the rifles they use to have at carnivals, a real toy of a thing.
It lives up to its reputation as far as accuracy goes thats for sure. Whatever ever you aim at for 100+ metres gets hit.
