    Talking SAVAGE MKIII Prototype

I have NO CONNECTION with this item or seller.

ON Collectors Firearms and Edged Weapons is a prototype of a MKIII TYPE rifle with a Mauser type action and 10 round magazine. A total revelation to me. Lots of detailed photos. checkit out.

Here we go again. Has anyone contacted Savage about this at all? As they weren't subject to bombing throu 2 world wars if any records are there then they could still be around.

Not the first time I have seen this rifle for sale. Can't remember who the last seller was but don't remember it being this firm. Way out of line for price without paperwork.

    I'll pass.

However I'll guess the 97XX serial number is actually 9735...LOL

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

There was one sold at the last Australianicon arms auctions, or the one before, they were quick way of converting captured rifles, to useable weapons.

Are you serious? A QUICK way of converting a captured rifle was to re machine the action, design a new bolt and locking system, cut the buttsocket off and remachine to fit a newly designed stock and then after that not change the caliber? OR if you're still using .303 brit, would it not be quicker to......oooh I dunno, just load it and start shooting?

Perhaps tuffbj70 is discussing those turk captured enfield/mauser whip ups. Definitely not what we've got here.
