A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Yep, everything matches up. 1917 dated barrel as well. This is the first peddle scheme I've owned, find them to be very interesting examples. This is an SSA, just need an NRF now!

Love the double struck butt socket markings! Not a half bad looking rifle!

By the way, my 1916 dated Standard Small Arms is s/n G4041 with '16 date LSA barrel, assembled at Enfield. I gotta figure your gun is a very early 1917 production example. Who assembled it--BSA or RSAF Enfield?

It's a BSA assembled rifle. Yeah, the double stamp,,,kind of neat!
