I was on Peleliu for a day in 1955 and there were still plenty of war trash remaining around. I spent most of the week on Angar , an island just several miles south of Peleliu. The marines took Angar first as it had a much smaller jap force on it and it also had a airfield. When the marines invaded Peleliu the Air Corp brought in b-24s and used them to bomb peleliu. The B-24s never had to leave the traffic pattern to make their bombing runs. When the fighting moved on, the bombers that were too damaged to fly were smashed by bulldozers and left there. Thet were still there in 1955. Bill Hughes

As an ex medic, that wounded Marine has 2 and third degree burns. The blisters indicate that he has been burned for awhile! He has to be in a lot of pain. Bring on the morphine syrettes!!!!
