    1915 lithgow 22 trainer

    Hello lads,

A few pics here of a 22 trainer I picked up recently. No dates to determine when it was converted but it retains it's 1915 forend which is nice. Butt is the nicest 1915 butt I've seen.

    I welcome your comments.

when you mentioned that it has been issued to two military districts, is that the equivalent of the NZ HG districts? and knowing how guarded the resources were here I am assuming that as the Lithgowicon factory's were able to up production that rifles like yours were released into other less resourced areas????

It looks to me, like a barrel date of July 1951.

See the barrel markings (7 `51) in the 7th Picture.

The finish on the barrel is different as well. Is the barrel solid or lined?

Yes, 7 '51 is the barrel manufacture date.

Barrel's parkerised and action looks to retain original 1915 finish. My feeling is the barrel, because it's not numbered, is not original from the guns conversion date.

It's a solid barrel, not lined.
