    WWII in HD - Fantastic

I'm sure this has been mentioned here before, but I just bought the History Channel's "WWII in HD" in BluRay. It is absolutely fantastic.

    And...wow...what a festival of M1icon and M1As.

I've been intrigued to look for and notice details, like how many ammo belts the guys wore (usually only one, but occasionally two), the color of the Garands (all are cherry/reddish looking), the length of their bayos.

The Marines are often seen using the big old 16" 1905s, in the European theater I've not noticed anything other than the M1 10" models.

I also like looking for what else the guys are carrying. There is one shot of a Marine going ashore in the Pacific and he has a viscious looking set of chrome plated brass knuckles on his belt.

    Great stuff.

I picked the DVDs up from Amazon for only $16!! Here's a link.

    ww2 in HD

thanks for the link Armsdorf. Brass knuckles, I feel sorry for all the young GI's now. they are pretty much restricted to only issue stuff. nothing, not even sun glasses can be used if not issued. Good luck to any of them now with going into battle with some brass nucks!

The old gunny in "The Pacific" carried a combat knife with brass knuckles for the hand grip.
