1903A2 update

Hey Gang
I just wanted to show you how my 1903A2 looked like when I brought it home from the local gunshow. Since my last posts I've found out a few more details about the rifle. The rifle was never a NM rifle. Its a USMC service rifle. Started life as a A2 sub-caliber device and sometime around 1939-40 was built into what you see now. Was built with a 1939 National match barrel and C-64112 rear sight assembly and a whole mix of different parts from all periods. The stock is a C-stock with service rifle number on bottom of buttstock also 1939-40 in origin. The pipe wrench marks on the barrel and texturing on the buttplate scream USMC. I wanted to thank my buddy Len at CMP for looking it over. In all the years he's been around he was tickled pink to see it. The D1836-4 on the bottom of the stock is a drawing number for the "C" stock. It does not refer to a specific rifle. Some of the parts, like the Smith Corona bolt sleeve date from a late war or post war rebuild. Possibly at Raritan Arsenal [RA-P].

Awesome! LOL unfortunatly its going on the auction block. I really have no need for it and I lean more towards k98's

Man , I'd never let go of something like that. Is it a high number reciever ( safe to shoot ? ) ? What do you want for it ? Don't have any K98s , but I do have an extended WW1 mag for the '03 . I've heard they've gone up a lot in value . I'm out of WW1 stuff now and into WW2 USGI for quite some time now , this is just a left over piece to me now. Any WW2 USGI things tickle your fancy ?

Yeah its a high number. Receiver is a 1934. Yeah i'm just going to let it ride on Gunbroker.
