need some advice on the no.32 scope
During the recent imperial meeting I decided to compete in the McQueen C class with a no.4T fitted with a no.32 mk3 scope. while the scope is optically in good order I really struggled to get a definite bead on the target as the reticles post rather than coming to a fine point is rounded. Is it possible to modify the post or is it something I should learn to live with and leave well alone?

Leave it! Most of them are less than sharp. If you are only using that one scope (versus multiple No.32s) then you will find you get used to it, and it'll do fine.
But, if it REALLY annoys you, then a certain VERY few folk can maybe be persuaded to change it.

If you can't get used to the ounded post, contact GE Fultons of Bisley. They offer a scope refurbishment service that is very highly rated. Reports from all who have used this service are very positive.
The Gentleman that the send them to must know a thing or two. I don't know how keen he is on replacing the recticle post.
If you want a reference contact Cpt. Peter Laidler on this forum. I believe Peter knows the gentlemen quite well.
I am saving my pennies so that I can send my scope for the full treatment.
