Enforcer No 432 (twin ovoid)....

Enforcer 432, Seen this on Guntrader see link below, just wonder if anyone has the real 432 or know what happened to it, any info Alan ?

No 432 was / is an Enfield / Parker Hale assembled Enforcer.

432 (along with 430, 431, 434, 435, 436 and 438) was issued to Lanarkshire Police on 3rd October 1974 - so - its not strayed far from its original home.

432 doesn't appear to have the PH5E/4 rear sight and I'm not convinced the scope is original.

I know that 437 is in WA (USA) maybe the owner still reads this forum and would comment if 437 has the 'twin ovoids'.

Looking at the milling of the twin ovioids, it does look rather messy. As I no longer have the Enforcer that sparked the "twin ovioid" debate, I can sit back and watch this unravel with interest, not nail-biting frustration lol.

I,m glad you dont have to suffer any more nail biting frustration, and for anyone else I,m not trying to rub salt in the wounds, just trying to found out the origin of the twin ovoid.

I,ve had a few "not quite what there ment to be rifles" my way, but they have been on sale or return so only lost out on postage/shipping etc, (last one cost me a few quid as the Dealer was a ****, and would not arrange for a pick up, ( was no one on this forum).

As far as the Enforcer goes, to me its a forgers paradise, and I think most know my veiws regarding it, I confess to knowing nothing about them only what I,ve read recently, but I do know a little bit about Engineering and QC etc, and I,m 100% sure the twin ovoids never left Enfield.

After brosing the web found the site By Mark Stevens, (link at bottom of page)

I emailed Mark and asked him if I could post a comment from his website regarding the Enforcer and also post a link to his site, he has given me the nod.

The comment I was interested in and stands out most to me, was made from Colin Moon, regarding the QC (Quality Control) at Enfield, to me this said it all regarding the final product.


"The modifications to the buttstock and the production of the fore-end wood were done by Colin Moon of Brighton. Colin Moon remembers being impressed with the quality control imposed when making Enforcers, with more parts being sent to the 'scrap bin' than being passed on to the next stage of producton at the factory"
