    1952 Polish M44

Ok... all you jokers out there can knock off the Polish gun jokes! Ya, so us Polish folk are a lil funny sometimes!
Here is another M44 that I picked up. Once again I was looking for M44 variations (preferring to collect WWII items). I happend upon this nice rifle at a Dunhams WAAY back in the early 2000's. I brought it home due to the condition! Generally it appears to be unfired due to thecondition of the metal.. however, it was either badly rearsenaled... or someone got carried away with a belt sander when making it! There are rough machine marks on the stock... The upper handguard finish doesn't appear to match the rest of the "belt sanding" job! I bought the rifle, and have never done more than clean the metal... so without further chat:

I fear to remove the delicate sticker... for fear of damaging the wood finish!

Side serial number matches the one on the receiver ring....
Top markings... along with SN and date..

Where can I find good quality slings for M44's? I have a few that need this critical feature... along with my M91 (to replace my apparent AK version).

More photos of my Polish jewel!

    Matching bolt...

    Matching buttplate

Another fine photo of the museum quality finish!

Business end of the rifle! Note that I do have a cleaning rod with this critter! This really was a nice find!

If you look at the majority of my rifles, I actually have attached tags to them. It describes where they were found, what year of manufacture... what model they are... what I paid for them... and any historical provenance I can associate. That way, my Wife can find a fair market value for them in the future... or if they get passed to the kids, the children will know what they are...

I will never forgot the guy who sold me a Vetterli and it was actually a Beaumont! Finding that bolt was a lot easier than he figured!

With time you can find almost any sling you want on ebay. Mosin slings are pretty common and you'll have several sellers to choose from. Nearly all selling gun parts appear to be dealers or gun hobbiests rather than individuals selling off excess. Check feedback, compare prices and shipping before purchasing.
