    Colt trigger replacement

I have a Colt carbine, LEO version, that shoots well enough, but the trigger is awful. I have two stage match triggers (factory) on both my older Bushmaster DCM rifle, and Rock River Arms varmint rifle and like them both. I have heard many good reviews of the White Oak trigger as well. Any other suggestions?

Geissele. Hands down. The winner. Good enough (in the SSF form) for combat use approved by the USMC.

The SSA, linked below, is less costly than the various match triggers, but is super. I have all sorts of Geisseles!

I have a Colt Gov't model that I acquired in 1989. Some years ago, I put a Rock River Arms trigger in it and it works great. My match rifle was a RRA with an upper from White Oak Precision mated with a RRA national match lower. The RRA trigger was tuned by John H. at RRA. My experience with the match trigger led to the RRA in my Colt. It was really smoth breaking.

Sorry for the mistake. It is John H. from White Oak Precision.

RRAs will eventually fail, it is a known fault with the design.

Geisseles will not. The SSA or SSF as noted, as well as the DMR are excellent.

I've seen the dramas with the RRA 2-stage triggers. There may be an old thread with photos on "arf.com" or sticky or something reviewing various trigger installations. I'm not a member there, so searches aren't too successful. At any rate, what I've seen is that the small cross pin comes adrift and the secondary sear either binds or doesn't work at all. Not good. Not too hard to fix, but if you are going to run a lot of rounds through your rifle,it should be addressed. Whether the newer ones have this potential problem, I don't know.

I've had one RRA 2-stage... the hammer snapped after maybe 1000ish rounds. I have 4 Geisseles now - 2 SSAs and 2 of the High Speed NM. All are excellent.

What are the intended roles for the carbine ? The idea is to fine the answers based on your needs.
    Examples :
3 gun competion & want to win regional matches.
LEO hard training and hard use carbine .
Civilian fun gun used for some training , some hunting , and kept handy for possible home defense.

    ETA:
There are some very good threads about which triggers are good or bad for specific applications on M4carbine.net . I personally would run screaming from a room full of arfcom yutes if they even started to discuss this topic.
