Not an entry for the Bubba Hall of fame at all. We were not allowed to own military calibre rifles there was no importation of rifles, so conversions of ex military rifles to .22,.243,25 and.270 using 303 brass was the only way. The price asked for might be cheap or expensive you have to start somewhere.

err, look at the colour... if that's not a bubba touch I am not sure what is.
I do understand why they had to use the various cartridges based on the 303 but that does not excuse the paint. The price is what you uwould pay for a new no4 mk2 not a sporter 303.

I run a No5 as a work rifle as well as a s/s all weather ruger which needs a non refelective coating. When you can not buy what you need you make it happen. We can now buy commercial rifles mostly without camo. Pretty wood and blue finishes look good in the safe but not that easy to keep in the work place. I have not done the coating bit or said i would but i understand the reason why. Price you can only ask. The 2 No4 Mk2s i have just bought cost more than $1500 AUD ea still in the grease.

I have to say that even our sniper courses don't paint rifles as garishly as that, er.............., monstrosity! And they're going to encounter incoming rifle fire too!

I'm not going to buy it... but hey do whatever you like with your rifles.

Even the worst bubba job is someone's pride and joy and they paid the money for it and can do what they want to it. I don't mind sporterised enfields to a degree as they have a history of their own, suxh as the 7.7 x 54r to get around the stupid laws at the time. I just like tasteful sporterising.

It's doesn't look as bad as my Long Branch when I first got it. I'm not a fan of camouflage rifles though I do understand the necessity in certain circumstances.

"Not many 25/303s made" sorry but wrong.
We all know that necessity is the mother of all inventions, this is why we have the 25/303.
Because of restriction, the huge availability of smle's and a simple lack of anything better Aussie gunsmiths simply necked down 303 to 25 and added barrels to suit and bingo, a rifle for the Aussie hunter.
This calibre is a great piece of Aussie history, I have a 25/303 because it was the rifle all the old boys that I looked up to as a kid used to use.
I have bigger, better and faster but the 25/303 will sure make anything I need to kill very dead.
Well anyway back to the rare $1500 deer rifle or should I say the $250ish rifle with the what looks to be $125ish piers synthetic stock, $10 camo job [2 cans spray paint @ $5] with el-cheapo scope. NOT WORTH $1500
I also note the rare deer hunting rifle is advertised in Vic where I think you are required to shoot most deer with at least 270/130 grain.
Anyhow I live out in the sticks, its a great day outside, I am going to get out my 25/303 and go down the paddock and blow the cobwebs out of it!
Cheers
