    Question

Well, your single pic is a little blurry and hard to make out clearly, but normally the "T" marking on the receiver of a No.4 Mk1* rifle signifies a sniper conversion done by the Long Brach factory in Canadaicon. Of course, to be a Canadian Long Branch sniper, there needs to be a lot of other markings and correct components on the rifle to make it so, such as the scope "pads".

To compare your rifle, check out the 1945 Enfield No.4 Mk1*(T) Long Branch Sniper Rifle (click here) in the Canada - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here).

Ok, but how about some pics of the rest of the rifle....

It's going to be hard for anyone to help you without more information and pics.

Did you compare what you have against the example in the Knowledge Libraryicon?

Certainly doesn't have the usual no32 scope pads installedSeems to me if it had one of the other scope mount types, there should be some extraholes in the side of the receiver showing in the pics.

How about a few more pics from a bit further away. Also, can you post the complete serial number, replacing the last couple digits with X's if you are worried about posting the complete number.

Too early for a (T). The program did not get off the ground until late 43 early 44. I suspect "Bubba and Daughter Inc" has been busy, but then again "you never know with a Lee Enfield" The "T" was added after the pads and rifle was set up, and I know of none that were marked before getting set up. It could be a lunch bucket special....who knows without a close physical inspection. My 2 cents of the issue.
