New Vene and Lux FN 49's

Scored a double at an auction today. I was looking at a Luxemburg FN49 in 30.06. Ended up getting it AND a Venezuelan FN 49 in 7x57.

Auction pics and description only. better pics when they arrive.

    The Lux..

    Description advised as follows:
"Belgiumicon FN49 semi-automatic rifle Luxemburg Contract. Cal. 30-06. 23" bbl. SN 3218. Blued finish on metal with several areas where bluing is thin, walnut stock has deep handling marks, flash hider, bayonet lug, 1 magazine, leather sling, cleaning kit in butt stock. Good."

    The Vene..

    Description advised:
"Belgium FN49 semi-automatic rifle Venezuelan Contract. Cal. 7x57mm. 23" bbl. SN 128. Blued finish on metal, walnut stock has minor handling marks, flash hider, bayonet lug, 1 magazine, leather sling. Very good."

Would you mind telling me what the market value of the .30 Lux and 7mm Ven rifles are in good shape? Do they both have that black, paint-like finish on them??????

I believe that I got these for considerably less than market value. I think the Venezuelan and Luxembourg FN49's in good shape are probably worth $800-$1000, but that is just an educated guess.

I'll post better pics now that they have arrived.

They arrived and here a some additional pics. I was a little disappointed that both rifles came with flash hiders. I've removed them until I can find the proper muzzles devices.

    Here are some additional pics:

    here is the Venezuelan:

Bore was hard to photograph, but is sharp and shiny

    And here is the Luxemburg..

Couldn't get a decent pic of the bore, but it was shiny and sharp also. The Lux seemed to have something similar to the suncorite that the Britishicon used on there Enfields.

The good old days, we still had a few standing around in the armoury when I was in. I wonder what happened to them.
