    I was curious too. A quick google search shows them on sale for around $250. You can see video reviews on Youtube as well. A nice gift for your son, this old jarhead salutes him.

    Good blades and the Axis lock is reliable, sandresistant and strong.

    I carried a smaller Benchmade as my utility blade for small stuff during my time in and a Spyderco Lil' Temperance rode in the GP pouch of my gear for somewhat more serious work.
