    Help with Cartridge ID

I was given a bunch of boxes of this ammo. I was hoping someone could ID it for me. Thanks in advance.

Should be incendiary. I've had some of that, Israeli Military Industry I think. I had 30-06 and 9MM and .45 cal. The 30 cal was excellent when it struck and flashed. I wished I had a propane tank to shoot. From a great distance.
    Regards, Jim

Far from incendiary! Israeli 158 grain round, loaded to a slightly higher pressure for UZI use. The blue tip is a standard Israeli marking for SUBSONIC pistol ammo.

Excellent. I've been saving this stuff for nothing. The rifle ammo was incendiary though, it went boom on contact.

Yes, US .30-06 with a blue tip would be incendiary.

I know Johnny. I thought Nato standard was blue for incendiary. Thus the mistake. All those years in the Army I taught a colour code I can't count on any more.

It was not an uncommon round in the US during the 1980s. IMI was selling all sorts of ammo, which also included "UZI" brand black and brown tipped 9x19 ammo. (No difference between the two that I recall. Both higher pressured 124gr FMJs, usually in a box that was made up to look a little like a wooden crate.)

Yeah, the black tip was the original "carbine" load code, but, as the story goes, they were mistakenly called AP in the US and the color was changed to brown.
