I am looking at a mississippi rifle with a decent bore but has a sanded stock and the metal overly cleaned with the makers name on the lock buffed out. what would the value be

original the only markings left on it are windsor/vt 1847

Is it complete? Sorry to ask questions like this but it is hard to know what you have and even begin to discuss it without the information. Can you post pictures? That would help a great deal.

it is complete and the lock works
