Odd ball Mosin variation

I stumbled across this looking for dewat US pineapples. I've never heard of such a thing and wondered if anyone here had.

It's a Mosin Nagant cut down to a hand gun. Basically just the action, very short length of the barrel, and a cobbled together hand grip.

I bet this is a veritable beast to fire, I wouldn't pull the trigger on it.

I've heard of them and they occasionally come up for discussion on some other boards.

A Gunboards member made a Photoshopped example out of a picture of a common refurb M91/30 that does the rounds on other Forums as an authentic or made in the US example. This is pictured below...



The obrez was an expedient weapon made up during the Russian Civil War for assassination purposes (I believe), and authentic examples don't really exist outside of Russian museums. As such I don't consider them a proper variation of Mosin Nagant...

I second what Fernleaf says... I have also heard of the same examples as he pictured... in museums in Russia.
I do know that some people have made these in the US, using demilled Mosins.
In the US, I believe modification of a rifle into a handgun is illegal. Check your NFA laws before "making" one.
