Question Mounting of Firearms - Static Display

Not too sure where this thread belons, Mods place in appropriate forum. No doubt there will be howls of protest, however, it is my intent to restore the following:
    1. Lee Enfield SMLE MK3
    2. Webley Revolver

Once restored I want to mount them individually as a static display within a timber frame case. My question is what would be a good mounting setup as to to only show the weapon without any clamps, brackets etc that would take-away the actual weapon on show.

I'm thinking of some sort of 'blind' bolt/screw coming from behind the timber panel picking up the woodwork on the SMLE, and some part of the Webley.

Any thoughts/suggestions on an ideal method, or has anyone done this before and how did it turn out. The displays are for my study at home, got a collection of memorobilia from my Great Grandfather/Grandfather and father from previous conflicts they served in. Just thought the weapons would 'cap' off the study.

Are the weapons functional? I havn't done this and can't offer a lot, other than offering that some bracketing is by far preferable to any type of hole, if the weapon is something that one may ever want to bring out and use or handle. Maybe have a good look at other displays that are out there online, as I'm sure there's a no permanent fixing in the rifle solution.

With the rifle, you can make up small vertical brackets that slip thru the front and rear sling swivels.
Then mount in a clear perspex case on wood base.
Sorry, not into short range stuff, it's just rock chucking distance foe me.

With Aistralian firearm laws, if the weapon is to be on display it is to be rendered inactive.

@tbonesmithicon - I hadn't thought of making the display so the weapon can be picked up and handled, although as I've stated I'm pretty sure the law stipulates that if on show and rendered inactive it must be 'fixed'. I have to apply for a collectors licence and will investigate the law a bit further to see if it can be made so as well as on display it can be handled. Will make for the mounting a whole lot easier.

Thin wire wrapped around a metal portion of the rifle and revolver and sent through a hole in the back of the case similar to how they package many collectible products where they use things similar to bread ties. Obviously you need wire heavier than that but if placed strategically, it will be hard to see.
