A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Excellent Value for a Well Built Rifle.

I have one of these K-31 rifles with a walnut stock.
Its a Sig Neuhausen and the fit and machining of the parts is "impeccable". My only "wish" is that I could have one in .308Nato as the "ammo train is problematic" in my opinion. Another great feauture is that its set up essentially for "Canadianicon conditions"..snow ice rain resistant and with a cocking piece that you can use with gloves. It really is the "best of 1931 straight pull technology"; it stayed in service until 1956 or thereabouts. The most amazing thing about it is that it guaranteed Swissicon neutrality in WWII.
I has a Ross M-10 for about 30 years and used it as a hunting rifle; the rapid bolt operation here requires the same head turn so the cockpiece doesnt end up in your eye in really rapid fire. This said I think at $275 or even $395 at P&D it is a Real Bargain and Great Investment. Have you noticed those $125 M-1 Garands (the best of 1936 technology) sold by Lever Arms and others in the 1990s arent around anymore? No more minty Long Branch five grove barrel No 4s at $179 either..hmmm is it fair to say that the K-31 is their current 2007 $$ value equivalent as to price upgrade by 2015 or so? My take is to Enjoy the $275 K-31 ones while they last.
Lots of great barrels with these rifles. Stocks show lots of wear as they were carried lots and well cared for. Designed for Accurate work at 300 metre matches that every adult Swiss male took part in as a National Duty. Its very easy to install a scope mount on the K-31 no drilling required with one allen screw on the right side of the action for an offset scope mount using Weaver rings with any power scope for the testing of reloads. My only reservation is the "ammo train". Rechambering would void collector value but if the action would take pressures of something like .308 which sells for $340 a case of 1000 rounds you could really give these rifles a "shooting workout". Wonder if 7.62 x 54 Russianicon round would work? Lots of it around.
