Does picture #3 look like they have the scabbard on the bayonet, was Risk Management at work during wartime in the early 40's? They seem to be using the 16" blades in these photo's.

Advisory Panel
I think it might be a good idea with green troops to avoid unecessary injury. If I was doing it I might have them on...What I was looking at was pic 2. The two rifles next to the photog, are they gas trap guns? Silver gas cylinders? The front sight looks awfully boxy for the gas prot rifle. I can't blow them up to tell. And the nearest Sgt seems to have a carbine on his lap too.
Not that it's a bad thing.

Jim, good eyes. I didn't see the carbine. I magged it up, looks like the corporal has a carbine also......Frank
